Czech Republic says NO! January 29, 2018, 1:23 pm

Free plastic bags will be no more. Now in all stores in the Czech Republic they need to buy, like any other products.

The main objective of the new law is to reduce the use of polyethylene and, consequently, pollution of the environment. Those who break the law - face a fine - almost 20 thousand euros.

Now, even cereals, sweets or spices in the store do not fit, but put them in special boxes. You need a package - buy. Free only for bakery products, vegetables and fruits.

The prohibition applies even to clothing and footwear stores. The main goal is to reduce the use of polyethylene and, consequently, pollution of the environment. Those who break the law - face a fine - almost 20 thousand euros.

"Due to the fact that retail chains introduced a fee for the use of packages, their use has decreased by more than 50%," said Czech Minister of Environment Richard Brabets.

Official statistics say that today about 300 plastic bags fall on one Czech a year. And the goal of the new law is to reduce this figure three times already next year.
