Every year, 300 million tons of plastic and rubber come to the landfills. The severity of the problem is difficult to overestimate: plastic is not processed by soil microbes, and therefore, will remain on earth for thousands of years to come. With the preservation of production rates by the middle of this century, the mass of hazardous materials will increase to 12-13 billion tons.
During the year, the average EU citizen uses about 190 plastic bags, of which 90% are light bags with a film thickness of less than 50 microns. Citizens of Ukraine use polyethylene bags more actively - one person has more than 500 kuleks per year. Such packages are used for 20-30 minutes before they are thrown away. And they decompose ... .. 100 years!

FRANCE: introduces a complete ban on disposable plastic bags, which should disappear from the cash registers of French supermarkets by the end of the year.

DENMARK: In 1994, a tax was imposed on the free distribution of plastic bags in trade establishments. After the innovation, the popularity of polyethylene decreased by 90%.

ITALY: from January 1, 2011, the use of plastic bags is banned in the country. Now for the purchased goods, buyers should have reusable bags or biopackets.

LATVIA: a tax on plastic bags used in supermarkets was introduced.

ESTONIA: tax on PE packages from 2010-2011. In Estonia, paper bags are cheaper than erasers.

FINLAND: Supermarkets have automatic machines for receiving used packages, which serve as raw materials for the processing and production of new plastic

In the supermarkets and markets of the EU countries from 2018 it will be impossible to get free plastic bags!

In order to improve the protection of the environment and the condition of the territories, the Verkhovna Rada registered a draft law that would limit the use of plastic bags.
The project proposes:
- to prohibit the production, use, importation, paid and free distribution of polymer packages.
As an alternative material in the production of packages, environmentalists recommend Use a wrapping paper, "says the chairman of the coordinating council of the NGO" Green Front "Oleg Peregon
